This 4-acre park serves as one of the Legacy Trail trailheads and provides recognition to those who have served & given their lives for the freedom of our country. On 9/11/2012 a memorial to those who died in the "9/11" tragedy was dedicated.
This unique beach is small but features a boardwalk to the beach, with public shelters branching off from the main walkway. Native Florida slash pine grows almost to the water at this beach. Natural habitat for gopher tortoises & FL scrub-jays.
This park includes a 1.2 mile paved multi-use trail that winds through the central portion of the park. It connects to the Venetian Waterway park offering visitors the opportunity to walk, bike or rollerblade to downtown Venice.

These trails are part of the South Trail System of Oscar Scherer State Park, and are the only trails that shy away from the heart of the scrub--the better to showcase the blackwater stream system that flows towards the Gulf of Mexico.
